Cisgenic Anthocyanin Enhancement via MYB Transcription Factors

Abstract
This defensive publication establishes prior art for a cisgenic, fruit-specific anthocyanin enhancement system in tomatoes and other edible crops. The approach uses endogenous MYB/ANT1 transcription factors driven by ripening-specific promoters (e.g., E8) to upregulate anthocyanin biosynthesis exclusively in fruit tissue. By disclosing this system publicly, we ensure these cisgenic genetics remain freely available for breeders and the open-source community.
